The Institute of Druze Studies (IDS) is an academic research organization; it was established in 1998 at the University of California (UCLA), moved to San Diego State University (SDSU) in 2000, and expanded its focus to include diaspora studies.

 

 

 

 

The IDS aims to:

 

·facilitate studies and publications on Druze history, society, and faith;

 

·encourage research on Druze and other diaspora communities; and

 

·promote academic discourse on interfaith studies.

 

 

 

 

The IDS has pursued its mission through:

 

• three international conferences

 

• three issues of the IDS Update (newsletter)

 

• two issues of a refereed journal, The Journal of Druze Studies (JDS); and

 

• many other forums and round-table discussions.
